VERMICULITE PREVENTS ROOT GROWTH - Organic water retentive
BioKi Vermiculite is a natural laminar expanded asbestos material produced by an irreversible, high-temperature heat treatment that retains oxygen, nutrients and moisture, releasing them only when needed by the plants.
The product mixed with peat, bark or growing media in the substrate for pot plants and horticulture provides ideal conditions for maintaining healthy and vigorous growth. It is also suitable for distribution on sandy or clay soils, where it retains the air and moisture needed for proper growth and avoids water imbalances. Also suitable for reducing excessively high summer temperatures.
METHODS OF USE
Seeding: 10-15% + sprinkling over the pot container.
Repotting: 10% (1 L for every 10 L of substrate).
Carnivorous plants: 25% (1:3 ratio).
Planting shrubs and trees: Fill the hole where the new plant will be placed with a mixture of universal potting soil (1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 sand and 1/3 humus) to improve root aeration.
Autumn/spring bulb storage: use 50% dry vermiculite with peat.
Also suitable for cut flower containers and mixed bouquets, where it avoids the smell of water.
WHEN USING
BioKi Vermiculite spread over sown containers- reduces water evaporation
- delays substrate desiccation,
- avoids temperature changes, creating a microclimate favourable to germination,
- facilitates the absorption of water by the seeds and consequent germination.
Mixed with substrates, it increases water-holding capacity and enhances nutrient exchange capacity by reducing losses through leaching. In repotting, it improves the uptake of nitrogen, potassium, calcium and magnesium necessary for vigorous growth.
BioKi vermiculite used worldwide and in the indicated dosage is not harmful to people, animals, beneficial insects and bees.
The product can be used in ORGANIC FARMING
Grain size: 1.0 - 4.6 mm
Apparent density: 100 kg/m³
RAW MATERIALS: Expanded vermiculite obtained by heat treatment of phyllosilicates with magnesium, iron and aluminium, not chemically enriched and free of polluting elements.
"Vermiculite is a mineral, phyllosilicate of magnesium, trivalent iron and aluminium, with hydroxyls and water. The name comes from the Latin vermiculus, small worm, because of the shape it takes when heated." Cit Wikipedia
