THE DIMLUX EXPERT MKII IS AN IMPROVED SERIES OF COMPLETE DEVICES INCLUDING AN ULTRA OPTICAL REFLECTOR.
The Dimlux Expert Series 600W EL UHF MKII is supplied with the Ultra Optics 98 reflector and the Philips Greenpower 600W 400V EL lamp. The Ultra Optics reflector is designed according to the Single Bounce Clear Sight (SBCS) principle and is equipped with Miro Silver mirrors. This guarantees the highest possible efficiency (98%) of all available horticultural reflectors.
Equipped with adjustable side reflectors for better overlapping and to minimise wall reflection losses. Due to the open design of the reflector, the lamp is cooled passively, which is an advantage for lamp life and efficiency. There is a 50 mm socket on the reflector that can be used to significantly reduce room temperature by actively extracting air. Optional ADD-ON reflectors can also be installed to further reduce wall losses. The reflector is replaceable.
The Dimlux Expert Series 600W EL UHF MKII comes standard with a 2 metre connection cable. If a longer cable is required, it must be ordered separately.
Key features Dimlux Expert Series 600W MKII:
- Combination lamp, ballast and reflector
- Offers 10% higher efficiency than standard HPS lights
- Ultra high frequency operation of the ballast (140Khz) increases light output from the bulb in the active photosynthetic spectrum
- Operates from a standard 230 volt domestic power supply
- Extremely high PAR levels (usable plant light)
- Very low operating temperatures
- Highly efficient with extremely low heat output
- Alpha Optics 98 reflector for wonderfully uniform light diffusion
- Supplied with Philips 600W 400V EL PPF lamp at 690W - 1341 mmol
- Suitable for illuminating an area between 0.9 and 2.3sqm depending on the power and needs of the variety being grown
1 x 4.0m power cable

Safety and reliability:
The diagnostic LEDs present indicate whether the ballast is switched on, in safety mode or has any malfunction. In the case of a malfunction, the LEDs will also indicate the nature of the malfunction (e.g. poorly executed wiring) Thanks to its processor, the Dimlux continuously monitors the internal operating status and the quality of the connection between ballast and lamp. In the event of a loose cable or a short circuit, the ballast switches off immediately, preventing possible fire hazards.
Conventional ballasts ignite the gases inside the bulbs with electric shocks of up to 5000V, greatly increasing the risk of overloads and fires. Thanks to soft-start technology this does not happen with Dimlux.
Constant light output:
Another important thing to take into account is that conventional magnetic ballasts vary their efficiency and thus light output depending on the voltage of the power line to which they are connected. The same ballast can have a variation in light output of up to 10% when mounted on lines with different voltages.
The Dimlux, on the other hand, automatically stabilises the incoming current on a voltage of 230V, which guarantees a constant light output irrespective of the voltage of the power line to which it is connected.
Durability over years:
As with other electronic ballasts, a great advantage of DIMLUX is that they do not lose efficiency over the years. An analogue ballast tends to consume more and more power over time and yield less and less. It is possible that with the passage of time the increased absorption of analogue ballasts (even 4 to 5 amps for a 600W ballast) can cause an overload of the power line with possible fire hazards. Dimlux keep their consumption constant, avoiding
any risk.
