The EL1F controllers are the new controllers in the Gavita family. Not only do they offer everything the Gen 2 controller has to offer in terms of control and safety, but they also provide integrated intelligent fan control based on a PID algorithm:
- 0-10 V EC fan control - Intelligent PID fan control
- Non-volatile memory
- Event logging
- Independent sunrise and sunset settings
- Independent light cycles on EL2
Improvements 2nd Generation
Intelligent PID fan control - PID control reduces temperature fluctuations. The results are a stable temperature in your grow room and a quieter fan.
0-10 V EC fan control - Modern EC fans have a much wider control range while maintaining power, torque and static pressure, and consume much less energy. With this small, intelligent controller, you can control the intake and exhaust fans for greater precision and significantly reduced noise, resulting in better performance.
Memory: all master controllers use reliable non-volatile memory to store user settings.
Logging : all master controllers now have logging functions for high/low temperature, last automatic dimming event, last shutdown event and last power loss, including date and time of event
Separate sunrise / sunset control - Allows different periods to be set for sunrise and sunset
Independent cycles on EL2 models - These cycles allow two different overlap cycles to be programmed (e.g. a 12/12 on channel 1 and an 18/6 on channel 2)
Independently programmable external contactor modules (ECMs) - In EL2 Gen 2 controllers, you can now choose whether to switch on or off and which channel to follow. The results? Flexible integration and automation.

Features and benefits
0-10 V EC fan control
Modern EC fans contain a brushless DC motor, which is powered by a controllable electronic driver. They offer an excellent range of control while maintaining power, torque and static pressure, at much lower energy consumption. Although they are more expensive than conventional AC fans, their precise speed control and torque maintenance ensure much better and quieter airflow control.
There is no longer a need for separate high-speed controllers to regulate the intake and exhaust fans: this smart little controller can control them all, more precisely, more quietly and with much better performance. If you want to move 1 cf/s so 1000 cf/s: this controller can handle any size EC fan.
Independent cycles on EL2 models
With our first generation, the EL2 models had a "follow" or "reverse" function, which allows you to use the two doors for one large room, or two bloom rooms "flip/float" in a 12/12 cycle. This is still possible, but now you can programme the two channels of an EL2 completely separately. You can programme two different, overlapping cycles, for example a 12/12 on channel 1 and an 18/2 on channel 2. Basically, you have the functionality of 2 EL1 controllers in one, plus the extra functionality of the ECMs and alarm contacts on the EL2
Switch, dim and boost centrally
You now have complete control over the light cycle and output of your fixtures from a single point. Never reach a ballast again!
Simple programming
Configuration of the controller is very simple, with a plain text interface in 5 languages on a high quality OLED display.
Intelligent PID fan control
PID stands for Proportional, Integral, Derivative. It is a control algorithm that is used in industrial control processes to provide more accurate and stable temperatures and process flows. PID control reduces oscillation and is self-learning, based on continuous measurement of the effect of any changes in temperature and fan speed. The result is an absolutely stable temperature in your grow room and a quiet fan.
Recording
Recording functions for high/low temperature, last autodim event, last stop event and last power loss.
Separate sunrise / sunset
Set different times for sunrise and sunset.
Easy installation
Complete installation is plug-and-play. Each E-series unit comes with all necessary cables to install it on the control bus of the electronics series.
Crop safety - autodim
In extreme conditions, the master controller automatically dims the lights so that your plants survive high temperatures.
Crop protection - auto-shutdown
When cooling or ventilation fails, the Master Controller automatically switches off the lights, preventing imminent crop damage (or worse).
Memory
Non-volatile memory to store user settings.
Independently Programmable ECMs (External Contactor Modules)
ECMs (External Contactor Modules) are used to switch auxiliary equipment on or off. In the GEN2 EL2 controllers it is now possible to choose whether to switch on or off and which channel to follow. This allows flexible integration and automation.
Easy
The Master Controllers are extremely easy to configure. The two-line green OLED display is crisp and easy to read, even in a brightly lit environment, and all menu items are in plain text. The 4-button control of the menu system is intuitive. A special fifth button is added for directly setting the output of devices. Red and blue LEDs show the output status of the controller ports and provide a quick view of any errors.
The cabling system is plug-and-play with all necessary cables already included with each device in the electronics series. You can find more information on how to connect your fixtures to our controller here: Single bus vs. repeater bus. The manual describes how custom cables can be made to any length. Different lengths of controller cables are available as original Gavita accessories.
The controller is easy to mount with the supplied bracket. Two screws are all that is needed to install it and the controller clicks into place. This allows easy access to the wiring at the bottom of the controller.
Safe
The most important and appreciated functions of the master controller are the temperature safety functions. The lamps will automatically dim when the air conditioner is no longer able to maintain the correct temperature. Or you will also switch off your lamps when the maximum temperature is reached. These functions have already saved many a crop!
The control signal is a safe, analogue, low-voltage signal and the controller is protected by signal connections in the wiring. Wiring errors do not kill the controller.
Last but not least, EL2F offers alarm contacts (NO and NC) for seamless integration of the controller into alarm and monitoring systems. Whenever a calamity occurs (power failure, emergency shutdown or sensor failure), the alarm contacts switch, notifying you that action is required.
Flexible
Whether it controls two floodlights or 1000, the Master Controller will do the job. As standard, each output channel can control 40 floodlights (single e-bus series) up to 500 luminaires (repeater e-bus series), without the addition of pressure booster modules.
EL2F has even more functions. In addition to the dual output ports, you can connect our ECM units that allow you to switch auxiliary equipment, such as CO2 units and heaters, during on/off times.
We have a wide range of original Gavita accessories available, ranging from a booster to expand the number of single-bus e-series units with 200 units each, to cables, splitters and long lead temperature sensors.
