It promotes rapid and vigorous root development.
NextGen Growplugs are composed of white peat and washed and buffered coconut fibre. They are lightly fertilised, making them a perfect base for young plants. The mix of coconut and peat provides an ideal balance between air and water, creating a moist and stable environment that encourages the growth of more and longer roots, as well as increased root hairs.
NextGen Growplugs are supplied in a dry state, making them light and mould-free. The pre-formed hole allows easy insertion of seeds or cuttings. Drainage holes in the tray prevent overwatering, ensuring stronger, healthier plants.
After visible rooting, the plug must be transplanted into a growing medium. NextGen Growplugs are designed to remain intact during transplanting, facilitating handling and ensuring that the plant roots are not damaged.
PlagronNextgen growplug advantages :
-
Keeps your delicate cuttings intact during insertion:
The pre-formed hole and flexible structure of the coco-peat mix make it easy to insert cuttings, even the most fragile and freshly taken cuttings, without any problems. No force is required, so the cutting remains intact. -
Rapid and vigorous root development thanks to the ideal balance of air and water:
Thanks to the combined properties of peat and coco, NextGen Growplugs create an optimal balance between air and water. The peat gives compactness, helping to retain water, while the coco keeps the mix airy, allowing the roots to grow quickly and vigorously. -
No root damage during transplanting:
The coco and peat are bound together with an adhesive that keeps the plug intact even when removed from the tray. This allows the root development to be checked regularly without any problems. The adhesive also ensures that the plug remains intact during transplanting, ensuring that the roots are not damaged.
Use Nextgen growplug Plagron:
Soak the plug in water or add water to the surface of the plug and allow it to drain. Enlarge the seed hole if necessary. Insert the cutting or seed into the pre-formed hole in the centre of the plug. Place the tray in a moist environment to prevent excessive water loss. Transplant the plug into a growth medium after visible rooting.

Frequently asked questions:
How often should I water the plug?
You should water the plug when it starts to feel dry or lighter to the touch. A good indicator is when the surface starts to lose moisture. It is important to maintain a slightly moist environment to encourage root growth. Do not let the plug dry out completely.
Do I have to use the whole tray at once?
No, the tray is made of plastic. You can cut it into sections according to the number of seeds or cuttings you have.
Do I have to fertilise the plugs?
Plugs are lightly fertilised, but once there are roots we recommend that you provide a small amount of nutrients. Keep the EC of the nutrient solution below 1 mS/cm. Alternatively, you can transplant the plug into a growth medium.
