The Dimlux XTREME UV-B Add-On is a high-power add-on module designed to enrich the light spectrum with UV-B radiation(275-375 nm). Available in 17 and 25 W variants, it integrates with Dimlux XTREME SERIES LED systems or can be used as a stand-alone unit in compact grow rooms. The purpose of using UV-B is to stimulate the production of resin, flavonoids and terpenes, and to help defend plants against pathogens, fungi and mites.
Key features Dimlux UV-B add-on
Thanks to its optimised reflector and compact format, the add-on provides uniform distribution of UV-B radiation on the canopy. The module includes a radar sensor for safety shutdown when integrated with the main unit, an integrated ambient light sensor control and the possibility to connect to the Maxi controller or third-party controllers.
The Dimlux UV-B Add-on can be used as an addition to any LED on the market due to its very compact dimensions (minimum space between bars 5cm maximum length 72cm)
Recommended installation height:120 × 120 cm area: min. height 60 cm (17W module)150 × 150 cm area: min. height 75 cm (25W module)

Use of UV-A and UV-B in indoor cultivation
The joint use of UV-A and UV-B can generate synergetic effects on plants. While UV-A helps improve resistance against fungi and pathogens, stimulates pigmentation and promotes greater tolerance to damage caused by UV-B, UV-B radiation is more powerful in stimulating the production of resin, flavonoids and terpenes. UV-B induces controlled stress, leading the plant to produce secondary compounds to protect itself, increasing the aromatic quality and active profile of the flowers.
Safety in the use of UV-A and UV-B
UV-B modules emit radiation, so it is essential to take precautions during use. Direct skin and eye exposure must be avoided: the use of UV-B protective goggles and appropriate clothing is recommended when working inside the grow room with the modules switched on. In addition, the installation must respect the minimum distances indicated to avoid damage to plant tissue and ensure safe light distribution. Built-in automatic shut-off sensors and Dimlux control systems reduce the risk of accidental exposure, but it is the responsibility of the operator to ensure that the environment complies with safety standards.
